On October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Hillary Clinton was born. She had two younger brothers and was raised by her parents Hugh Rodham, and Dorothy Emma Howell Rodham. As a kid she was always interested in politics, and was active in Republican groups and campaigned for Barry Goldwater. However after hearing a speech by Martin Luther King Jr, she became a democrat in 1968. She was senior class president at Wellesley College, and went on to attend law school at Yale. After graduating with honors in 1973 she went to Yale child study center, and studied children and medicine. In 1971 she worked on US senator Walter Mondale's sub committee on migrant workers, and the following year she campaigned for Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern. Two years later she was a part of the presidential impeachment inquiry staff and advised the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives. She however was fired from that position due to her "unethical professional behavior connected to Nixon's due process." She went on to work at the Yale law school with her boyfriend Bill Clinton. She married Bill in 1975 and had their first daughter 5 years later. Bill Clinton made her the head of the Task force on national health reform in 1993 after he was elected president in the 1992 election. After the 1998 Monica Lewinsky sex scandal she supported her husband, yet was rumored to want to leave her marriage. The senate failed to convict Bill after he was impeached so he stayed in office. Later she decided to go for a seat in the senate, and became the first lady to be elected to senate from New York, and the first first lady to win public office. In 2007 she announced her plan to become the first female president. After Obama won the 2008 election he appointed Clinton to be the secretary of state. She then advocated for female and human rights while promoting social media. In March of 2015, it was discovered that she had used her personal email address to handle official government business when she was secretary of state. While speaking to the UN, she confessed she used her email address for the connivance and stated that it was allowed by state department protocol. On April 12, 2015 it was made public that Clinton would try to secure the democratic presidential nomination for this years election. She discusses on her website her desire to lower student debt, reform criminal justice, improve healthcare coverage and costs, and improve women's rights. She is known for flipping her stance on hot topic issues such as gay marriage. She states she has a plan to combat climate change, yet supports fracking.
